It's been too long since I have done one of these entries! I will be updating the blog with some older projects that I didn't get time to post before. Right now I am working on:

IP June / EC juin

A general update for June: Continuing with a project I have already started, and starting another.

Currently In Progress:
Baby blanket (new technique: knitting flat on circular needles, using fuzzy yarn)

Upcoming:
Shirt for my daughter. I found some beautiful cotton yarn (Katia Bombay) and what looks like a great free pattern to make a "summer shirt". I don't think she'll actually wear it in the summer, what with the hot temperatures here, but it will make a nice fall/spring shirt.

Otherwise, with my due date approaching, I don't want to be too ambitious and try to start too much at once, so I think June and July will be relatively quiet months.

Couverture de bébé (nouvelle technique : tricot à plat sur aiguille circulaire, laine fantaisie)

À venir :
Chemise pour ma fille. J'ai trouvé du fil en coton (Katia Bombay) et ce qui semble être un super patron gratuit pour tricoter un "pull d'été". Je ne crois pas qu'elle le portera en été, surtout qu'il fait assez chaud ici, mais ça fera un beau pull de printemps ou d'automne.
Sinon, avec la date d'accouchement qui approche, je ne veux pas être trop ambitieuse et essayer de trop faire à la fois, donc je pense que juin et juillet vont être assez calme en ce qui concerne les loisirs créatifs.

Otherwise, I found more embellishments for the wedding scrapbook and have taken advantage of my husband's 2 weeks of holidays to do chores around the house, so even though I haven't been super crafty, I have at least been able to cross a few things off the list.

Sinon, j'ai acheté des embellissements pour l'album de mariage et j'ai profité des deux semaines de vacances de mon mari pour faire diverses tâches autour de la maison, donc même si je n'ai pas fait beaucoup de loisirs créatifs ses dernières semaines, j'ai pu au moins rayer des tâches de ma liste.

IP April / EC avril

Just a quick update. I have a post in the works about my finished cowl, but can't seem to find the pictures I wanted to put with it. Hopefully I'll get to that soon.

A general update for April: I have a few projects that I have recently started and some that are upcoming - all in all, a lot going on in terms of knitting!

Currently In Progress:
Dishcloth (new technique: Yarn Over, knit 2 together)
Baby blanket (new technique: knitting flat on circular needles, using fuzzy yarn - not as easy to see one's stitches!)

Upcoming:
Redo baby hat in the round (new technique: using double-pointed needles, or DPNs)

Also, as an aside, I wore some fingerless gloves that were given to me as a Christmas present to push the stroller in 6 degree weather and felt great. It's making me want to try out a pattern or two! Now the task will be to find one that I like and find some nice wool to go with it...

Juste une mise au point. J'ai un post en cours sur mon snood, mais je n'arrive pas à trouver les photos que je voulais mettre en ligne. J'espère que je vais pouvoir le faire bientôt.

Des nouvelles pour le mois d'avril: J'ai quelques projets que j'ai commencé récemment et autres qui sont à venir - dans l'ensemble, beaucoup de choses sur mes aiguilles !

Actuellement en cours :
Torchon (nouvelle technique : Jeté, tricoter 2 mailles ensemble à l'endroit)

Couverture de bébé (nouvelle technique : tricot à plat sur aiguille circulaire, laine fantaisie - pas toujours facile de voir les mailles!)

À venir :
Refaire le bonne de bébé en rond (nouvelle technique : l'utilisation d'aiguilles à double pointes DPNs)

Aussi, j'ai porté des gants sans doigts que j'ai reçu à Noël quand je suis sortie avec la poussette quand il a fait 6 degrés Celsius et je me suis senti bien. Cela m'a donné envie d'essayer un patron ou deux pour m'en faire d'autres! Maintenant, la tâche sera de trouver celui qui me plaît et trouver la laine aussi...

In Progress (IP) / En Cours (EC)

Just a quick update on how things are going. I've started on a new kitting project, a cowl, with the first yarn I have ever bought. Though I had to restart a few times because of stupid mistakes, it is going really well now. The only annoying thing has been starting a new skein of yarn in the round. I'll have to do it again more than once before this project is over and I'm not thrilled with how the first one turned out. Oh well, learn from your mistakes, right?

In other news, I have almost all the supplies I need to get started on the wedding scrapbook. I had some supplies here at home already (some stickers and paper) and I found more last week. The photos are almost ready too - I found some more that I wanted to include and hav just ordered them. I still have a few specific things in mind that I am missing, but I have enough to start planning out where things are going to go and how the pages will look.

And finally, I am happy to report that not only is there a yarn shop in town that sells interesting yarn, I found out that the closest shop for my current favourite brand of French yarn is going to continue to sell yarn in store, contrary to the one in the city where my husband's family lives, which is going to become a clothing store only as of the 22nd. So I'll still be able to go and look at what I buy before I buy it!

Des nouvelles: J'ai commencé un nouveau projet tricot, un snood, avec la laine que j'ai acheté... mon premier achat. Bien que j'ai dû redémarrer plusieurs fois à cause d'erreurs stupides, ça va très bien maintenant. Le seul bémol a été de commencer une nouvelle pelote de laine. Je vais devoir le faire encore plus avant la fin et je ne suis pas contente avec la façon dont cela s'est passé la première fois. Au moins j'apprends de mes erreurs, non?

J'ai presque toutes les fournitures dont j'aurais besoin pour commencer l'album de mariage. J'ai déjà quelques fournitures ici (autocollants et papier) et j'en ai encore trouvé la semaine dernière. Les photos sont presque prêts aussi - j'ai trouvé d'autres que je veux inclure et je viens de les commander. J'ai encore quelques trucs spécifiques qui me manquent, mais j'en ai accumulé assez pour commencer à tout planifier.

Et enfin, je suis contente que non seulement il y a une boutique en ville qui vend de la laine intéressante, j'ai aussi découvert que la boutique de ma marque préférée de la laine française la plus proche va continuer à vendre de la laine en magasin, contrairement à celui de la ville où vit la famille de mon mari, qui va devenir un magasin de prêt-à-porter à partir du 22. Donc je vais encore pouvoir y aller et regarder ce qui m’intéresse avant de l'acheter !
