In Progress (IP) / En Cours (EC)

Just a quick update on how things are going. I've started on a new kitting project, a cowl, with the first yarn I have ever bought. Though I had to restart a few times because of stupid mistakes, it is going really well now. The only annoying thing has been starting a new skein of yarn in the round. I'll have to do it again more than once before this project is over and I'm not thrilled with how the first one turned out. Oh well, learn from your mistakes, right?

In other news, I have almost all the supplies I need to get started on the wedding scrapbook. I had some supplies here at home already (some stickers and paper) and I found more last week. The photos are almost ready too - I found some more that I wanted to include and hav just ordered them. I still have a few specific things in mind that I am missing, but I have enough to start planning out where things are going to go and how the pages will look.

And finally, I am happy to report that not only is there a yarn shop in town that sells interesting yarn, I found out that the closest shop for my current favourite brand of French yarn is going to continue to sell yarn in store, contrary to the one in the city where my husband's family lives, which is going to become a clothing store only as of the 22nd. So I'll still be able to go and look at what I buy before I buy it!

Des nouvelles: J'ai commencé un nouveau projet tricot, un snood, avec la laine que j'ai acheté... mon premier achat. Bien que j'ai dû redémarrer plusieurs fois à cause d'erreurs stupides, ça va très bien maintenant. Le seul bémol a été de commencer une nouvelle pelote de laine. Je vais devoir le faire encore plus avant la fin et je ne suis pas contente avec la façon dont cela s'est passé la première fois. Au moins j'apprends de mes erreurs, non?

J'ai presque toutes les fournitures dont j'aurais besoin pour commencer l'album de mariage. J'ai déjà quelques fournitures ici (autocollants et papier) et j'en ai encore trouvé la semaine dernière. Les photos sont presque prêts aussi - j'ai trouvé d'autres que je veux inclure et je viens de les commander. J'ai encore quelques trucs spécifiques qui me manquent, mais j'en ai accumulé assez pour commencer à tout planifier.

Et enfin, je suis contente que non seulement il y a une boutique en ville qui vend de la laine intéressante, j'ai aussi découvert que la boutique de ma marque préférée de la laine française la plus proche va continuer à vendre de la laine en magasin, contrairement à celui de la ville où vit la famille de mon mari, qui va devenir un magasin de prêt-à-porter à partir du 22. Donc je vais encore pouvoir y aller et regarder ce qui m’intéresse avant de l'acheter !
