I have been very bad at updating lately. I have had several blog posts waiting to be published but I have been so busy with other thing (and working on lots of creative projects!) that the blog took a back seat for the time being. I hope to slowly continue updating this with everything I have worked on in the past few months.
I had the pleasure of a wonderful visit from a friend of mine in December, and she was kind enough to teach me how to crochet. We spent an evening chatting while I fumbled around with hook and yarn until I figured things out. When she left, I began looking for projects and stumbled upon this one. Luckily for me I already had the perfect yarn, so I began immediately... and promptly got sick (as did my daughters) and ended up taking 10 days to finish one of them. All in all I made three, and gave them to my mother for her desk at work.
I figured out partway through that I crochet very tightly, and as such the reverse sc was a challenge, but I loved the finished product, and would love to make more of these in the future. When I do, I'll have to try a new technique to keep the join jogless - though it involves cutting the yarn each time, I think it looks neater. I used a 3mm hook because I don't have a 2.75mm, which is what the pattern called for.

Je n'ai pas été très ponctuelle pour mettre le blog à jour ces derniers temps. J'avais plusieurs articles de blog en attente mais j'ai été tellement occupee (et pas qu'avec des projets créatifs!) donc le blog n'a pas été une priorité. J'espere continuer le mettre à jour au fur et à mesure avec tous les projets que j'ai terminé ces derniers temps.
J'ai eu l'immense plaisir d'accueillir une amie chez moi en décembre, et elle a eu la gentillesse de m'apprendre à faire du crochet. Nous avons passé une soirée à papoter pendant que tâtonnais avec le fil et le crochet jusqu'à ce que j'ai compris comment le faire correctement. Quand elle est partie, je suis partie à la recherche de patrons et ai trouvé celui-ci. Heureusement j'avais déjà le fil qui convenait, alors j'ai commencé de suite... et j'ai chopé la creve (et mes filles aussi) donc il m'a fallu 10 jours pour terminer un dessous de verre. J'ai fini par faire 3 en tout, et je les ai donné à ma mère pour son bureau.
Je me suis rendue compte à mi-chemin que je fais du crochet très serré et par consequent la maille serrée inverse a été un vrai défi, mais j'adore le produit fini. Je serais ravie de refaire le patron, et quand je le ferai, je veux essayer une autre technique pour rejoindre en rond sans que ca soit visible - elle consiste à couper le fil à chaque fois et sera plus propre. J'ai utilisé un crochet 3mm car je n'avais pas de 2.75mm (ce qui indique le patron)
